Employment of the disables (Discussion with the mayor of Ise-city)

Hakuseisya has employed the disables since 1975, and currently 15 disables (20~60 years old) work at Hakuseisya. Mr. Suzuki, the mayor of Ise-city, requested promoting employment of the disables. Mr. Tsujimura, CEO of Hakuseisya, replied, “The disables can work if people surrounding them help and Hakuseisya keeps employing the disables.

An offer of bedclothes at the time of disasters.

Tamaki-cho and Hakuseisya signed the agreement of offering bedclothes at the time of disasters. When Tamaki-cho requests Hakuseisya supports at the time of disasters, Hakuseisya provides recycled items of bedclothes, towels, blankets and pillows. Mr. Tsujimura, the mayor of Tamaki-cho, told that well preparation for disasters lead to citizen’s relief.

Service agreement for disaster with Ise-city

Ise-city and Hakuseisya reached the agreement of offering bedclothes at the time of disasters. Mr. Morishita, the mayor of Ise-city appreciated since linens are necessities in case that disaster happen. Mr. Tsuijmura, CEO of Hakuseisya told that Hakuseisya wants to contribute by offering clean linens.

Quantification of"cleanness" Hakuseisya got certified RAL

Hakuseisya acquired certification of German quality assurance system RAL for the first time in the linen supply industry in Japan. According to Mr. Tsujimura, CEO of Hakuseisya, there were no clear standard for “cleanness” in the linen supply industry in Japan and each company used their self-standard, so market competition tended to depend on price. He said, “We could said only ‘our linen is clean’. Every supplier said the same, so customers (hotels) tended to think the cheaper, the better.” Mr. Tsujimura thought that we wanted to appeal not only price but also quality. Then, Hakuseisya challenged to be certified RAL, which quantify linen’s whiteness, tear-strength, and so on. The certification enables Hakuseisya to explain its linen quality to hotels. Mr. Tsujimura wants hotels to treat quality of linen as an equal as that of furniture and food in hotels.
2002
The first achievement of ISO 9001 and 14001 in the linen supply industry

Hakuseisya got certified ISO 9001 and 14001. This is the first achievement in the linen supply industry. An environmental action is one of very important business factors in the 21th century. Hakuseisya introduced a recycled drainage system of laundry water and vinyl package of low dioxins emission. In addition, Hakuseisya made an environmental management manual of more than 130 pages and conducted employee trainings. Linen supply industry is one of re-used and recycled product industry, so all organizations of Hakuseisya tackle environmental preservation as well as quality control.
